General Major Swayne;

General,
Mr. Paige
the agent appointed to accept and forward supplies for this County, informs me that Mr. Westbrooks received 5000 rations, instead of three thousand, as I had been informed. Mr. Westbrooks has been appointed agent- for Beats 12 & 15 originally beat three - the County was at first divided into 14 Beats, compromising about an equal [[extent]] of territory - now Beat One is Tallassee,
 and lies on the west side of the Tallapoosa river, and contiguous to the then first Beat, you appointed Mr. Westbrooks agent, and for which he receives the (5000) five thousand rations; as Mr Westbrooks in all probability will not have record all his rations before this letter reaches you. Will you be kind enough to order him to include Beat one, Tallassee in his distributions, this is reacting more than right or in fact, he only has three Beats out of fourteen and these three Beats has 5000 rations while the remaining eleven has only 1,000 rations, I understand Mr Westbrook represented that none of the Beats he represents receved any of the rations sent here in February last, this is a mistake, or do books show the contrary -but not a greate deal it is true
I am very respectfully
Your obt. Sevt.
Allen D. Sturdivant
