into record and deducted from the gross ammount in this contract to be paid said laborers, and all articles stolen, or wasted by carelessness and neglect during the present year shall be charged to the laborers aforesaid, unless the guilty person can be designated, in which case it shall be deducted from his wages, and the offender dismissed. It is further agreed that the parties of the second part shall not keep or feed any stock on the plantation of said Strudwick belonging to themselves or others, and that they shall be obedient to the summons of the bell. That they shall start to work at the ringing at the bell in the morning, and retire to their homes when it rings at night. And it is further agreed by said Strudwick that whenever the condition of the crop is in the opinion of himself or his superintendent in such a state as to warrant it, he will give the laborers the half of Saturday
