My Dear Sir 
I regret to learn from a letter just rec'd from our Superintendent W.F. Mitchell at Nashville, as well as from the papers that the school house for Freedmen at Stevenson Alabama, owned by our association was burned by an incendiary last Monday morning, just the day the school was to commence. We bought the house from the Government last year. This fall it was found necessary to move the building a little out of the town, on to the site I told you last week that we were hoping to purchase for the benefit of the colored people. I know you will be disposed
