I will just say in reference to J. T. Anderson's statement: that his former Agent may have made the demand of $2.50 per month, upon the colored people, without the knowledge or consent of J. T. Anderson; but the said former agent did doubtless make such a demand upon them; and I believe all of the statements made in my letter to Gen. O. O. Howard, in reference to Jno. McCauley, to be strictly true.

P.S. - I wish it distinctly understood, that I have no ill feeling whatsoever against John McCauley; on the other hand, I would willingly befriend him this day, if opportunity should offer; but I regard the interests of a whole race, as paramount to those of a single individual.
