The Undersigned have been appointed by the Commissioners Court of Russell Co Ala. "to procure a hospital, nurses, appoint a guard, and do all other things necessary to suppress the Small Pox in Opelika!! address You to ascertain whether You will furnish anything in the way of rations, clothing, tents, for use of a Small Pox Hospital in the town of Opelika. There are nine or ten cases of Small Pox here & it seems to be on the increase. Several cases among the Colored People of a very malignant character who need medical and other attention very much. If You are dispersed to do so, send us 24. Hospital tents with flies. 400 suits clothing
