Crawford, May 28th 1866.

M H Cruikshank.

Sir.
William A Dunn Esqr., the Bearer hereof, is the duly authorized agent of this County to draw Rations for us. I am now making out the report of all the Rations issued, but have not heard from one of the agents. Will send it in a few days. If you can raise our quota from 300 to 400 you will confer a great favor upon the Poor of the County. I am satisfied that there is not a poorer one in the State or one more deserving this Charity. I wrote you a few days since begging you to save our Rations for May if the thing was possible. We would like to draw May and June together - and will try to have our Agent at Montgomery regularly hereafter.

Very respectfully, J.F. Waddell
Judge of Probate
