District of Mobile, Mobile Ala
June 13th 1866.

Col C. Cadle Jr
Ass't Adj't Genl
Montgomery Ala.

Colonel:
I have the honor to make the following report of the Forts, and Magazines around Mobile.
One small Fort and Magazine at the mouth of the river opposite Battery Gladdon; the dirt and timber in this may be worth $500.50. About a quarter of a mile further down the Bay is another Fort, the dirt and timber in this may be worth $300.00. All the dirt in these two Forts must have been brought from some distance.
There is one large Magazine in the south part of the City that after filling up the ditch around it, the dirt and timber will be worth about $700.00. There are about 40,000 Bricks in Fort Sydney Johnston.
Battery "K", a large work north of the City has a good deal of timber in, but it has been reported to me
