I see from his Excellencies (the gov) message to the Legislature of Ala. that you are the accredited agent of the state to procure supplies for the poor and indigent of your state. If you have not already procured the limit of your instructions, I as a business man would like to assist as agent in purchasing supplies here for you, I can procure any amount of supplies of pork or corn in a few day notice that you may require I presume Bacon & corn both here are much cheaper in your state, so also are Irish potatoes, the provisions would have to be shiped by Rail as to my promtness in Business transaction I can refer you to Lycurgers, H. Hay Franklin Kentucky, John Dixon jr Henderson Ky, Capt. Samuel Henry. Crop Plains Roberson Co, Tenn, Laura, Howard, Springfield Tenn or any other reference you may require I can give. an immediate answer with instructions will be duly appreciated by me.
