Sir:
I have the honor to report that in according with your instructions looking to the securing of a suitable place for the establishment of a hospital at Taladega. I have examined several places from amongst the number the following are the only ones that can be obtained upon advantageous to the government.
The land upon which the helpless are now located is half a mile from this city and is the property of Mr.G Garrett, it consists of eighty acres unclaimed land, upon which there are two frame houses erected by the citizens of Taladega.
There is no well of water on the place, and water has to be carried some distance. There is abundance of wood for fuel, fencing and building purposes. From the best information I have been able to obtain the land can be purchased or leased
