Louisville, Ky.
July 20. 1867.

Dear General,

We have completed the purchase of, and I have paid for, the following articles at Cincinnati.
Bacon. 94 Hds. making 90299 lb. at 12 1/2 cts. $11,287.36
5978 sacks white corn - 12090 4/56 bushels at 81.14/100 $ 9,810.28

We came here this morning. Capt Arthur thinks he has made arrangements for the remainder of the articles, but must go to Evansville to receive them, to which place we start this afternoon. I was in hopes he would complete the purchases here so as to allow me to return, for I am becoming rather restless over A I fear. I know I am needed in Montgomery; and the Capt. thinks I grumble at this delay too much. I don't mean to, and yet try to hurry him all I can with propriety. He says I must go to Evansville, but he will try not to detain me there over one day. That will take nearly till Saturday night to get back here, and I cannot get to Montgomery
