by given, as to the distribution of this corn.

But we have received sad accounts of destitution in Tallapoosa. Chambers and Lee Counties. Mr. L.F. McCoy, of Opelika, putting the number of very destitute people in the three counties at 5,500. Be so kind as to remember their necessities.

We have heard nothing of the receipt of 4,400 bushels of corn ordered from Cincinnati, early in February to the care of John Powers, Tuscumbia, Alabama. Mr Powers was named as the consignee by Mr. Cruikshank, and I have written him about the corn, but no answer has been received. We know that the corn was shipped from Cincinnati, and Mr. Powers was to receive it subject to the orders of yourself and Governor Patton. Please make the needful inquiries.

We shall hope to hear from you on the receipt of either lot of corn, and to be fully advised of its distribution.

Very truly yours
Edw. Bright.
