little boys came to me where I was sleeping looks for the sale & said that they wanted me to go to Brundage with them I told him I should not go nor have anything to do with it at brundage then it was raining and I never thought no more about it until 2 days after some one told me that there was a freedman hanging down on the road by Mr J D Wadsworths I then went and found the same freedman that I saw barlow have at the sale I then sent to the other Magistrate as he was an older officer than I was to come and see what to do with the case he then sumoned a jury of twelve men & had an inquest over him then the case was taken up by the solisiter at circuit court then it was investigated so I was told if I not gave way to the senior officer I should have investigated the matter there but it was out of my hands as he was acting coroner over the case
