Dear Sir - On the reception of the corn and bacon at this place (some three weeks since), for the indigent and suffering people of Butler, Coffee, and Covington Counties (there being no county agents appointed to receive and distribute the same), I informed Capt. McGogy that I could not receipt for the [[same?]] until such agents were appointed. He notified you of the fact; and received orders to keep the provisions until he received further instructions from you. I am now ready to receipt for the corn and bacon; and as there seems to be some pressing demand for these rations
