In reply to yours of the 5th inst. I can inform you that five casks of Bacon said to contain 5530 lbs have reached this place, and also six hundred and fifty five sacks of corn, said to contain 84,410 lbs of corn. I have delivered four hundred sacks of corn and two casks of Bacon to the Butler County Agent. The other 255 sacks of corn and 3 casks of bacon are ready for the Coffee and Covington agents when they come for them. 
There is one thing very objectionable about this. Much of the corn has been washed out of many of the sacks, and yet I am compelled to give receipts as though the
