I would enclose to you a certified copy of "Apprentice papers," respectfully requesting your approval of the same. I have in behalf of my husband, Rev Thos. H Capers, (now deceased), fully carried out his part of the obligation as specified in the contract, Indeed I have done more than was required, for I gave her during the past year more than five times the amount of clothing specified, Treated her in sickness and health with as great kindness as I did my own children.  I have taken great care in instructing her, not as a mere household drudge, but have taught her to sew and dress hair, I have already taught her to spell and read, was beginning to teach her something of figures and writing, so that she might live comfortably and independently when the time of her apprenticeship expires.  She has been raised in the house with my children and I have tried faithfully to impress upon her correct manners and morals. I bought her when she was a very small child, merely through
