Sir;

Yours of the 25th ult was recd on last Saturday (2nd). On Sunday I went on a visit to my brother in law in the neighborhood of Mr Hudspeth & sent for him & Simon to come over to see me. Herein please find copy of a note from Mr H in reply. Simon came to see me and I arranged for him to come up here on Wednesday (tomorrow) when, if I do not hear from Judge Green I will appoint Counsel & have proceedings instituted at once. Simon informed me that the person who has his wife & two small children, claims her service, under some contract with her to compensate him for having lately removed her from Georgia. Being a married woman she was incapable of contracting & I think there can be no doubt of my authority to restore her to her husband at once. 
As to the children who were apprenticed- this was done while Simon was in the Penitentiary - having been convicted and sentenced by my predecessor Judge Wiley - and
