doubt Sir, but Watt is a bad man & maltreated this man (Henry & family) and I would add farther, I've no doubt on my mind, but that, he (Watt) fully intended to swindle Henry out of his year's work, I have never yet heard of his paying a negro a cent for labor since they were free - and I am able to prove that he Watt hired a negro girl out to a man last year for $40.00 who, he had got to live with him for her vituals & clothes,

To make a long story short his general character is that of a harpy to the full extent, I trust you will pardon me for thus troubling you again, but, it is a great deal of troble & expense for us to go 12 miles to court & that for nothing- I would refere you to W. T. Hatchett. if you wish to know any thing relative to my character, for truth & verasity, With respect I remain your friend and ser'vt., Wms. Chancellor
