The Gentleman who undertook to organize the School in this place was an original Secessionist & the member of the successive Convention. We found it to be very unpopular some of his warmest friends deserting him & he is trying to make improprieties on the Negro Men & that there is danger to organize a school to identify himself with them & to be able to give them a reason for withdrawing from the business retain a hold upon them. when first he undertook the business he proposed to one of his friends who is a personal & bitter opponent
