Florence Ala. Sept 9th 1867.

Mrs. Levena Turner is a widow with five children of her own and four grand children with out either farther or mother dependent upon her mostly for support. Some time ago the military authority took from her two mules the only team she had. One of these mules was left by General Teaches command in place of a horse taken for the use of the army. The other was taken up after the passage of Hoods army into Tennessee left by them in a broken over [[?]] and taken up by Mr Turner, who was then living. They were surrendered to Col. Buck of the USA army and by him returned. If any thing can be done for Mrs Turners which I think it will be Justice properly applied.
Respectfully
