I have the honor to reply to your note just received, in regard to the increase or decrease of Yellow fever.

I am of the opinion the number of cases are on the increase, but they are not of a violent character. In the Post Hospital there are four cases three being sailors, in the Providence Infirmary there are seven cases, two of these are under my treatment, and in the City Hospital there are about Eight or nine cases.

From my intercourse with the Physicians, of the city and my own personal knowledge, I can say there is about Sixty or Seventy cases at this time in the city of Mobile, and a large majority are mild, and will recover

I have heard of but one single case of fever among the Freedmen, this was at two mile creek. I will also state here, that arrangements
