Parsons with taking stores from the Commissary, stating I had a paper of settlement with his boarding master to that effect - whereupon he Parsons disclaimed having taking any more than fifty four 00 Dollars worth, and that he would pay for that amount - All this was in the presence of A. F. Rennie Clerk in the C. S. Dept. - he said Parsons in order to settle the matter and make restitution to the Government gave me an order on Col. Edwin Beecher for fifty 00 Dollars, the amount due Parsons for services rendered and four 00 Dollars in bills, in all fifty four 00 Dollars.

I have this day received the funds for payment of Parsons services and placed the amount to the credit of the United States Subsistence Department

Full restitution having been made further action in the matter awaits your decision.
