From all the information received I concluded that Mr. White was a close, hard-working man, who wants to make all he can, with very little "milk of human kindness" in him for either black or white; evidently a haughty kind of rebel, but taking things quietly as possible, "accepting the issue" &c. I think Solomon fabricated to some extent. He wants a good deal, and is not very willing to work for it. He is not interfered with by Mr. White.

Special Order No 28 seemed to have a wholesome effect upon Mr. W. as he reiterated that he never thought of such a thing as ejecting &c. He seemed to relish the words "Military Commission" very much!

I have the honor to be, Sir,
Very respectfully, yr obdt Sevt,
Andw Geddes
