Office Post Quartermaster Selma Ala July 3rd 1867 Lieut D. H. Millicent, u.s.a. Asst [[Agent?]] Dist [[?]] office, Lieutenant: I have the honor most respectfully to inform you, that on tomorrow morning I shall be able and prepaired[[prepared]] to [[?]] over all Property, Stores and Funds for which I am accountable in the different departments of which I have charge, and would most respectfully ask permission of General Swayne the privilege of living with my wife and children until the investigation or Trial comes off [[?]] it is but a few miles from Selma and where I have been living.
