Sir;
In reference to your's of 25th Inst conferring authority to arrange for care of colored sick of Yellow Fever, I have the honor to state that pending your answer I addressed a note to Mayor Horton requesting to be informed whether the colored sick, in the city limits, could have the privileges extended other poor in City Hospital; and in pursuance of the spirit of instructions in reference to Dog River Colony and Hospital, I tendered rations to November 1st for all colored sick who may be admitted to City Hospital.
The subject will come before the proper committee of the Board of Aldermen today and the Bureau may be relieved of the necessity for contracting with a physician.
