Sir:
The Mayor informs me that the city is prepared to take charge in City Hospital of destitute colored persons sick of yellow fever in the corporation limits.
For this purpose the Board of Alderman has passed a resolution appropriating one thousand dollars to be expended under the direction of the Mayor and proper committee for the relief of the colored population during the approaching epidemic.

Hereafter the colored sick will be admitted to city hospital the same as other poor and the Mayor assures me that should additional accommodations be necessary in the way of buildings &c. it will be provided. 

I have offered to furnish rations until November 1st.

I do not deem it necessary, at present, to avail ourselves of the authority conferred in your communications of the 25" and 26" inst.
