Dear Sir
Yrs with circular is at hand. The woman "Mily" as I wrote is an aged woman has no child or children nearer than North Carolina She has been cared for since her freedom by her son in law who is tired of her.

To say that she is in an extreme destitute condition "I cannot." She would if her son in law should cast her off be in such a condition. well to say that her son "Clem" cannot support her here I cannot. I have offered him 150 dolls & house rent for his mother the remainder of the year.

This is as near as I can give you the true condition of the woman.

Please do reply promptly as Clem is waiting to see if the transportation can be had. If it cannot be had he will remain with me.

Yrs very truly
John T. Harris
