Chambers Co. Ala. April 1st 1867 Mag. General Swayne, We a portion of the Freedmen residing in Chambers Co. Ala. in the vicinity of West Point Ga. Fearing that you was receiving a quantity of provisions for the destitute People of Ala., and believing the colored People cannot have justice done them in the usual way of distributing rations - We therefore pray you General, to appoint a special agent for the colored destitute in this vicinity, to receive their rations, and distribute them &c.
