Please make your arrangements so as not to pay teachers out of the Refugees and Freedmens Fund after the summer vacation. Have your Superintendent correspond with the different associations and Churches, so as to get a supply of teachers, without being obliged to pay them yourself. Already the amount you have received and expended from this fund, I fear, will render it impossible for us to establish a normal School or College in Alabama. This does not refer to what you may do from the rental - repairs - and construction - fund, if you have anything to devote to
