Gen'l Swayne

Dear Sir
By request of the Grand Mother & uncle of a boy Isaac Holland, I write you to know whether they are entitled to the boy until he is of age, he is now nearly 14 years of age, They are both living with me & were my servants until the surrender, & they wish to live with me & want to control the boy Isaac and try to educate him, As for myself I care nothing about the boy, it is only for their sakes, that I write They think they are his natural protectors, his father & mother both being dead, If it is right that they should have him. Please inform me. He is now in Montgomery, with a Jew I don't know the Jew's name
Respectfully,
Geo. W. Holland
