Hd. Qrs. Sub. Dist. Selma
Selma Aba June 10 67

Respectfully returned with reference to enclosure from D. Carmichael Esq. to whom this case was referred by me. I have seen W. S. McElvain, who states that they gave both money and checks, that this man was paid in full, part in money and part in checks, that he at one time drew $1.50 per day, that he became tired of the business & quit.
He states that Hampton has drawn his wages out in orders in favor of others
I believe that there has been no fraud practiced upon this man
