Lieutenant. -
I had Mr. W. W. Hampton before me - examined the papers mentioned by him, and find them with every mark of being genuine so far as I can judge,
His character from all the information I can get is good.
Received full pay at Irondale in checks. - Money on hand twenty five cents (.25¢)
His papers show that he was a Sergeant in the 11th R.I.H.A - Is at work at Mr. A K. Sheppard's farm near Bellevue for twelve and half dollars per month. ($12.50), one half to be paid monthly. - Is a single man - has a mother and sister living in Washington city D.C. - States that his father left property in Washington which he wants to look after as soon as possible, therefore the application for assistance now, as it will take him some time (his statement) to make enough ($12.50) twelve & 50/100 dollars per month to carry him back.
