Enclosed please find Statement of Traveling expenses. Requisition for stationary and vouchers for postage. Which I beg you will get cashed for me and forward if it is not convenient for the L.M. to furnish Memoranda book please [[underlined]] erase [[underlined]] on Requisition voucher. 
The journies as as for statement were all on Bureau Business and were necessarily performed That fro 1st to 3rd of Oct were authorized by written instructions from your officer. The labor system is working much better in this vicenity than it was a few months since comparatively very few complaints.
I think it is very necessary that the Freedmen should have some way to collect his dues for labor except the civil procase.
Planters severly think that I have the power to collect the Dues of the freedmen and I think in many instances I have a good influence in this settlement.
