Dear Sir
I respectfully entrust the following statement of fact in reference to the late election for a convention &c held in this County
Things went very smoothly the first day although there was a crowd for the polls and more present than could get to the polls to vote the most of whom camped near until the next morning. Mr B.W. Norris left some blank ballots with me and I was taken sick the same day that he was here and did not get the names of the Delegates written on enough of them to last the first day Although I hired a man to fill some few hundred of them.
As the voters could not get the "ticketts" as fast as they wanted them Mr. J.F. Holland the Sheriff of this County got some of the blank ballots and promised to have the names of the Delegates written on them. Mr Holland then threw them among the Freedmen as they were crowded
