In his complaints, Holland Stated that on the previous night some persons had come to his house for the purpose they said of killing him. After he refused to admit them, they left, telling him if he remained on that Plantation, They would come another night and kill him.
 
The morning of the Election Simpson told Holland that it was postponed one month (as did many others in this County) to keep him from the polls.
