I have the honor to report that Mr. Agustus
Shingler of Huntsville Ala. came to this office today and complained that the Sheriff had attached and was about to remove from his plantation all of the stock Waggons &c.  to secure a debt that was not Due until the first of Jany next. That the
present crop was not gathered and Should said removal take place the crop could not be gathered and Mr Shinglers other property being all
attached the ungathered cotton was all that the present laborers could get their pay from. Under the circumstances I issued an order asking that such stock Waggons &c. as was needed to
gather the crop be left on the place. I left them in the care of a
