Whether it was for his interest or not. also that Leven staid there and worked as long as his provisions lasted after Mr Grant left. and after that Leven went to work at another place in order to get provisions for himself, Crop examination Witness says the plaintiff commenced to work with defendant the second week in January 1866 and quit the first week in August. following and lost one week of said time with a pain in his wrist.

Tompkins witness for plaintiff. states that he rented Mr Grant land that Leven worked upon and employed Mr Grant to look after my farm and he was occasionally there and herd no compaint of Levon not working but rather herd that he was an extra hand and that he employed Levon one month to work for me from defendant at ten dollars per month. The witness states further that Levon came to him and asked his advice whether it would whether it would be best to take the mair or note from defendant for his pay and he witness replied that the mair was diseased
