The evidence of Mr IIee. H. Joseph witness that did not attend though his statement by his father Dr G.A. Tompkins was admitted by the Court on the day set apart for the hearing of the case between the freedman Leven Colvin Plaintiff and P.F. Grant Defendant Statement is as follows as proposed to the Court. That Leven Colvin (cold) about the time he left P.F. Grant went to IIee Tompkins and asked him to furnish him provisions to finish the crop as the said Grant told him he could not furnish the same to finish the eighth August 19th 1867. Testimony as about admitted for the date of the actioning of the above case between the parties.
