Dear Sir

Your official Circular Nos. recommending a uniformity of school text-Books in the schools of your District has come to our notice. We feel justified in writing you on the subject for several reasons. First, we notice that the books are all published by one firm: Second, the terms on which they are furnished are not extraordinary nor as low as we have furnished, & are still willing to furnish our books: Third, our books are already quite largely in use in your district & we regret that they should be displaced, as they are superior books, & so far as we have heard, in every instance give eminent satisfaction. They were furnished at half price for introduction & the books are kept for sale in Montgomery, Selma, Mobile & other places. Our Union Readers & Robinsons Ariths, are comparatively new books, containing the most improved methods for primary & more advanced classes. We have offered a first supply to schools just organized & where not used before
