General:

I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 6th instant, returning eleven appointments for correction, and stating that forty one 67/100 dollars was the amount requested, and also that eighty dollars was the amount requested for Mr. Burns.
 
In reply, you are respectfully informed that upon examining the original request for these appointments, and also the amounts stated on the July Roster, it appears that all of them were correctly made at this office, and the errors, if any, originated in the office of the Asst. Commissioner of Alabama.
