Respectfully returned with the information that I have investigated the within Case and find that the facts set forth in the enclosed letter are true, the Murderor has left the Country. The Murdered Man was a white discharged Union Soldier and the Murderor has been a Rebel Captain, I fear that Such Cases will be of frequent occurrence unless more troops are sent to the state the Civil law has no restraining influence over these desperadoes
