Dear Sir:
I write you at the earnest solicitation of two of my Lady friends who are desirous of obtaining situations as teachers in some of the Freedmen schools of the South. They have applyed to me wishing to know to whom they should apply for some such situation. As I was once connected with the Bu. RF & AL in your department, being on duty at Selma first as Q.M. and then as Post Supt during the summer and fall of 1865,
