E & M 68 D of A 1867 Hd Qrs Dist of Alabama Montgomery May 9th 1867 Respectfully referred to Lieut Geo Shorkley for investigation & report By order of Maj Genl Wager Swayne O.D. Kinsman 1st Lt & Sub Asst Commr. Hd. Qrs. Sub Dist of Selma Selma Ala. May 11 1867 Respectfully returned. Samuel N. Kiger was indicted by a grand Jury of Dallas Co, Circuit Court for stealing of Cotton, - he forfeited his bond, was captured, and is now serving out his sentence for stealing. He cannot be a very small boy, as his Petition to the Governor for Pardon mentions his very worthy service in the army (C. S. A.)
