Gus Giddens was then sworn who proved that he had been requested by Becca Bacon to get her a hand to cut some wood for her - that he met Charles Iverson and sent him to her - that as Mr. Palmer had stated, Mr. Palmer called on him to see about the tree - that when the conversation alluded to, was had, he was under the impression that Mr. Palmer was alluding to two hands he had cutting wood for him on another place adjoining Palmer's land - that he told Mr. Palmer that "a negro would be a fool anyhow that he had gone with them and showed them the line, and still they had gone over it that if they had done so he could pay him for the
