he found anything with of consideration he would lend the freedpeople [[it?]], and on their affidavits made before me I would issue the proper warrants have the parties brought before me, notify him of the fact, and tag and punish the violators of the law, in accordance with the facts, and that in accordance with said agreement said Thomas J. Moody wrote me a letter [[strikethrough]] state following [[/strikethrough]] of which, the following is a Copy - and which letter was rec'd on the 6 inst. to wit,
"Round Pond Ala. July 29th, 1867,"

I have examined into the"
matter, which I and you was talking"
about, and the girl having being left settles"
the matter, and the boy of Douglass, is but"
a lad. And cant get any sense out of him."
