Col.
I reply to yours of 8th inst directing me to forward all information I have relative to treatment of union prisoners in the South. There was no prisoners kept in this part of the country during the war except General Prentice and some of his officers and men all of whom were treated well. Col. Strieghts comdg was captured in Cherokee Country. I have writen to a good man who lives near and was Known to the facts, asking him to give me all the information he can respecting the treatment of Col Strieght and his men. I hope in a few days to be able to give you information of interest respecting Col Strieght & his men. The treatment of union men during the war is a matter deserving attention and if you desire I will collect and furnish you facts of this character.
I Am Col
Very Respectfully
Yours, Obt. Svt
