Matthews Plantation Jan 20th 1867.

Maj. O.D. Kinsman

Dear Sir.
I have waited long, and patiently for a settlement of my claim against the "Bureau" for one years salary as "Asst" Supt" for Clarke Co.

I have lost every dollar I possessed in my planting operations here, and I sincerely hope my salary will be paid. Will you please inform me at once, Major whether I am to expect anything or not.

Direct to Mobile, Ala. Care Wm. T. Marshall, &. Co.

I am Sir
Very Respectfully
Your Obdt Servt
