Residing in this county - I have made a demand for her restitution which has been refused by Cotton.

Now for Ben to take the necessary legal step in setting aside the apprenticeship - Monroeville being 30 miles away - will be rather an expensive & tedious undertaking & interfere with his present laboring contract.

He has referred the mother to me & I do the same to you as the speediest source of relief.

I believe there is no P.G. at New Tower Academy but any order to Cotton can be enclosed to me and I will have it served on him.

Respectfully,
Maj Genl W Sawyne P.D. Pago

Transcription Notes:
Not sure if the last phrase is correct "I will have it served on him." or "I will have it served and him." (I suppose it's the first option)
