and got a warrant. he got the warrant on account of Leonard Hart violating his contract, that Leonard Hart discharged his orders, he told Leonard to go to replanting corn & Leonard swore he would not go, & he took a Sack of cotton seed & went to other work screaing that he would not replant corn. Witness: says that his contract with Leonard was this; he was to give Leonard a supply of provisions for the year, & half that he might make up on the farm. The provisions to be deducted from Leonard crop at the end of the year.

That Mr Brooks was very particular about the law in the case, in issuing the warrant and also at the trial. that Mr Brooks issued the warrant after Witness made the affidavit was present at the trial. Mr Brooks said it was a hard case

When Mr Brooks heard on Monday that the law was repealed he scratched out the Judgt. The Sheriff came to Mr Brooks after Mr Brooks had done away with the Judgt. punishing Leonard and had released Leonard. has been acquainted with Mr Brooks about four years
