Office Sub Asst Commr
Demopolis May 23/67

Respectfully returned with this information that I heard a statement of the within case which attending Sumter Co. Court last April and from information then and since obtained I am of the opinion that it is a case that does not require the interference of the military.
Parker, I understood was a partner in the firm which bought the cotton. He also bought a lot of spice belonging to the estate. A large amount (some $50,000 or $75,000) is involved in the case and several lawyers are employed on each side. Judge Rice of Montgomery is one of the counsel in the case and would be able to give particulars.
