several Freedmen informed me at my rooms, that Wright had commenced again at my Office -; about this time word came also that Mr Pardue the Marshal of Greenville had arrested Wright (I do not believe he has been restrained of his liberty a moment, however) and taken him "up town"

The Negroes were instructed to leave a few trusty ones of their number at the Office, and then go home, quietly.

Besides the acts of Mr Wright enumerated, he drew his knife a cross the throat of a Freedman, and kicked several others, and used the most riotous, and abusive language. There were at different times from one, to two scores of Freedmen on the premises during these occurances; and they maintained the most perfect decorum. To=day I am informed that Mr. Wright is not satisfied with the result of his performance, last night, That is he did not succeed in cleaning out the Bureau.

This morning R.F. Cook Intendent of Greenville performed the farce of trying Wright, I declined going, or allowing my employees to give testimony in the Case, I am informed that Mr. Wright was fined ten dollars ($10 00) and costs, and bound over to appear at the County Court.
